A private winter Aurora adventure
In the heart of the Arctic winter, Lapland is transformed into a landscape of deep snow, snowy trees and frozen waterways. As darkness falls, the white wilderness provides a spectacular setting for the Northern Lights.
Your guide follows the latest weather forecasts, cloud movements and Aurora activity throughout the evening. Instead of simply taking you to one predetermined viewing location, the route is adjusted according to the conditions, with the aim of finding the clearest skies and the best possible opportunities to see the Aurora.
Before setting off, your guide explains the evening's plan, including where you are heading and why particular locations have been chosen. Conditions can change quickly in the Arctic, so the route remains flexible throughout the experience.
Your local Aurora guide
Your professional guide lives in Lapland and knows the winter landscape around Rovaniemi. Their local experience, combined with real-time weather and Aurora forecasts, helps shape the journey as the evening unfolds.
Depending on the conditions, your adventure may take you beyond Rovaniemi into quieter Arctic surroundings, where snow-covered forests, frozen lakes and rivers create a peaceful setting far from the lights of the city.
Your guide also acts as your personal photographer during the evening, capturing portraits and memorable moments beneath the Northern Lights. Your edited photographs will be delivered after your experience.
Stay warm in the Arctic winter
Winter in Lapland can be cold, which is why travelling in your own private vehicle makes a significant difference. Between Aurora viewing stops, you can warm up inside the vehicle rather than spending the entire evening outdoors with a large group.
Enjoy hot drinks, fresh bread, fruit and nuts during the journey while taking in the quiet winter scenery.
The private format also gives you more freedom to influence the experience. Whether you would like to spend more time photographing the Aurora, enjoy a quiet moment beside a frozen lake or simply follow the clearest skies, the evening can be shaped around your group.
Maximise your chances of seeing the Northern Lights
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and can never be guaranteed. However, this private winter expedition is designed to give you the best possible opportunity through flexible planning, local knowledge and continuous attention to weather and Aurora conditions.
If the forecast clearly indicates that the Northern Lights are unlikely to be visible, the expedition will be cancelled in advance and you will receive a full refund.
