Your local Aurora guide carefully studies real-time weather forecasts, cloud movements, and aurora activity before reviewing the planned route together with you. You will understand where the clearest skies are expected, how far the journey may take you, and the reasoning behind every decision.

Unlike traditional Northern Lights tours, this expedition has no fixed destination. Your guide follows the weather rather than a rigid itinerary. Some nights, spectacular displays appear close to Rovaniemi. On other occasions, finding clear skies may require traveling hundreds of kilometers across the Arctic landscapes of Finnish Lapland—or even crossing the border into Northern Norway if coastal weather systems offer better conditions.

To ensure complete freedom, the expedition includes a comfortable guesthouse prepared in advance should the search continue overnight. Rather than rushing back, you can rest comfortably and resume the pursuit the following day if forecasts warrant it. This flexibility allows your guide to base decisions entirely on the weather and aurora activity, never the clock.

Throughout the journey, your guide acts as your personal photographer, capturing professional portraits and unforgettable moments beneath the Arctic sky using high-end camera equipment. A curated gallery of professionally edited photographs will be delivered after your experience.

Light refreshments are provided throughout the journey, including sandwiches, hot and cold drinks, fresh fruit, snacks, and traditional Finnish grilled sausage prepared over an open fire whenever conditions allow. Restaurant meals during the expedition can be enjoyed at your own pace and are paid directly by the guest.

Day 1

• Pre-departure planning: Your adventure begins before you hit the road. Your local guide analyzes the latest weather, cloud cover, and aurora activity, reviewing the expedition strategy together with you.
• Into the Arctic night: Leave Rovaniemi in your private vehicle, heading toward the locations with the highest probability of clear skies. Every decision is based on live weather data.
• Flexible pursuit: Your guide continuously monitors weather systems, adapting the route in real time. The journey may stay near Rovaniemi, cross Finnish Lapland, or head into Northern Norway.
• Capturing memories: Whenever the sky opens up, your guide takes professional pictures beneath the Arctic sky while ensuring you have plenty of unhurried time to absorb the moment.
• Fireside refreshments: Enjoy light bites, drinks, and snacks throughout the journey, along with traditional sausage grilled over an open fire when the location allows.

Day 2

• Extended search: If forecasts show significantly better viewing opportunities by extending the trip, a comfortable guesthouse is ready for you. Rest overnight and continue the search the following day without time constraints.
• Return journey: Conclude your expedition with a comfortable drive back to your accommodation. Your edited photo gallery will be delivered shortly after your journey.
