Leave the city behind and step into a slow-moving world of water, sandbanks, and silence. As you travel by boat through the Ounasjoki Archipelago, the landscape gradually transforms into a peaceful network of islands and sandy shores shaped by Arctic nature. The evening light never fades, creating a surreal atmosphere where time feels suspended.


Upon arrival, walk along soft sandy beaches, discover quiet river inlets, or simply sit by the water and watch the Midnight Sun reflect across the river surface. For those who wish to be active, SUP boards are available to explore the calm surrounding waters.


At the heart of the experience is a traditional Finnish sauna. Heat, steam, and silence create a deeply rooted Nordic ritual, followed by refreshing swims in the cool river. This simple rhythm—sauna, water, rest—is one of the most authentic ways to experience Finnish summer life.


The evening continues with a three-course dinner inspired by local Lapland ingredients. Served in a relaxed island setting, the meal is enjoyed slowly between sauna visits, swims, and time spent outdoors.


As night approaches—but never fully arrives—you gather by the fire under the Midnight Sun, in a traditional riverside kota, where coffee and dessert are served in the soft glow of the Arctic evening.


Finally, the boat returns you to Rovaniemi under the golden light of the Midnight Sun, completing an experience defined not by time, but by atmosphere.

Know before you go:

  • Please bring your own swimsuit to enjoy the sauna and swimming.
  • Towels are available for rent (€5 per towel) and must be reserved in advance.
  • Life jackets are included, and rubber boots can be provided when needed.
  • The island is accessible only by boat.
  • Activities may be adjusted  according to weather and river conditions to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Dress according to weather and bring a warm layer for the evening
