On arrival, a warm log cabin awaits you—simple, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, complete with an ecological toilet. This is your shelter for the day, a place to warm up by the fire and feel what winter living is really like in the North. With only a small group on the island, the experience feels personal, calm, and deeply connected to the surroundings.

Your time on the island is yours to explore. Try snowshoeing through untouched snow, slide quietly on snowhoe-skis, learn the patience of ice fishing, or rediscover childlike joy while tobogganing down gentle riverbanks. All activities take place on the private island, surrounded by open river views and distant fells that frame the Arctic landscape.

At the heart of the day is food, fire, and warmth. The experience begins with a cup of traditional Finnish glögi, served at the start of the program to gently ease you into the rhythm of winter before any food preparation begins.

Your local guide—trained in traditional outdoor cooking—then prepares a fireside lunch inspired by northern winter life, using regional meat, roots, and berries brought together into a signature dish. A thoughtfully crafted vegan option is proudly offered as well on request. This is not just lunch; it’s a story of the land, the seasons, and everyday Arctic life.

To finish, you’ll enjoy a simple homemade blueberry pie with fresh brewed coffee and tea. Completing a slow and atmospheric moment around the flames.

You’ll spend around three unhurried hours on the island, learning, exploring, and simply being present before returning the same way you came—by snowmobile pulled sled across the ice and then by car back to the city. Along the way, your guide captures natural moments from the day, and you’ll receive photos within two days to remember your time on a winter island.
